While Lockett International Legal Services is often consulted after a problem is discovered, many of our clients prefer, and find it more cost effective, to work with us to identify and correct deficiencies before they become problems. Listed in Who's Who In The The World, James K. Lockett is the founder of Lockett International Legal Services. Trained as an international lawyer, Mr. Lockett is an American yet lived outside of the US for much of the past twenty years. He worked from 1983 to 1997 in Brussels, Belgium where he was a partner in a major Wall Street international law firm. Thereafter, he worked for two years in Sweden. Since then, he was based in Washington, D.C. where he continues his international legal practice. He added seven years of high-level government service from 2001-2008, working as Senior International Attorney-Advisor in the U.S. Department of Commerce, and then as a Senior Trade Lawyer in the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. In 2008, he joined the Hanoi, Vietnam office of Baker & McKenzie, the global law firm. He brings this considerable experience back to the private practice of law.
